Do you have expired and unused prescription and over-the-counter medications? Protect yourself, your family, and the environment by safely disposing of them.

Numerous police departments in Lehigh County will be collecting expired and unused prescription and over-the-counter medications during the fourth National Take Back Day on Saturday, April 28, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 17 sites in Lehigh County.

All medications, including pet medications, liquid products and creams in containers, will be accepted. Syringes will not be accepted because of the potential hazard posed by blood-borne pathogens. Illegal substances, such as marijuana and methamphetamine, are not part of the program and should not be placed in collection boxes.
