Meeting about reforestation of the RGNA neighborhood, followed by a private tour of the Masonic Temple

  • March 22, 2012
  • 7:00 PM
  • Allentown Masonic Temple, 1524 W. Linden St.

Dear RGNA Neighbors:

Please join us for a discussion with Allentown Parks Department arborists followed by a private tour of the Allentown Masonic Temple on March 22, at 7:00 p.m., at the Masonic Temple, 1524 W. Linden Street.

Reforestation of the RGNA Neighborhood

The focus of the discussion will be trees and the reforestation of the RGNA neighborhood. The October snow storm had a devastating effect on the 100-year-old trees that line our streets. We need to consider action steps to preserve the vision of the early residents who planned and developed our beautiful neighborhood.

Speakers will include City Arborist Rick Howells and Park Maintenance Supervisor Rick Holtzman. We also hope to have a representative from TreeVitalize, a program with the goal of planting 1,000,000 trees in Pennsylvania, and a representative from PPL to provide information and answer questions about planting trees near and under power lines.
